Event manager usage

I’d like to collect some scenarios of how Event Manager can leverage your Planning process, to recognize patterns later and be sure what to propose.
It’s like a brain-storm, feel free to add your comments.
And there it goes:

1 Automatic publishing of updated data – see here, and here
2 Sending mail notifications of budgeting period closure and other submission process events. Like “Mr ***, you”ve got just 3 days to fill in your budget and haven’t even started.”
3 Automatic data processing on submission status. For example, after a product manager submits his data it goes for segment managers for review (a 2-dimensional submission). That can be done by macros started from connection, but maybe you’d rather automate it sometimes
4 Loading actual data on time trigger. Month was closed in accounting — time to get it for planners to analyze, or to re-forecast some part. Again contributor macros or administration links from framework packages can do the job, but event manager has to wake them up. Moreover, time trigger is not the only possibility: sometimes people request their budget limits to be seen in EP, but they are updated in treasury subsystem of accounting. You can lower limits when payment request is accepted.

PS. Tagged the whole blog upside down, hope somebody enjoys the resulting tag cloud on the right pane.

    Hey Yuri,
I found your site and have seen your posts on Cognos Communities.

I work in Finance and one of the uses we have for event studio is automated weekly, monthly reporting.

New Hire Requisition reports, Actuals vs Budget for Operating Expenses and Capital Expenditures etc. Purchase Req’s over a certain amount are setup in a report and automated so that they can be reviewed on a timely basis with upper management.

Thanks for posting this wealth of information!
