Job Server Clustering Checklist
July 19th, 2006Things to be set for adding job servers to cluster:
- EP Service runs under Local System Admin User on every computer (names and passwords are the same on every service).Domain users can be used as well, but some sophisticated problems can arise.
- COM+ Planning Object runs under the same Local System Admin identity
- Database connection is explicitly set (not trusted)
- Every job server is added to cluster from it's local Contrib Console. Tests sometimes fail while adding a remote server. Localhost is allways added without a problem
You might have figured out that I am going thru your site all day. Not much to do after most of the prod instbility issues are gone.
is your first bullet point still true in 8.3?
Well, it’s much better now (in 8.4), there’s no more COM+, so network accounts work better
