Pro: IBM needs a CPM solution. Developing it “in-house” is too long. But “Blue Giant” won’t suffer without it much. It’s faster to buy complete solutions. I hear this for about a year now. IBM to buy Cognos. IBM do it, please. 100mln R&D budget is not enough for Cognos to redevelop planning significantly. And market is demanding. IBM, you’ve got so much money, what would it change? 300k IBM employees + 5k Cognos ones — a 1,|6|% change.
